UK Companies
IQA Immigration is dedicated to helping UK businesses employ skilled workers from outside of the UK, allowing your company to develop locally and internationally.
In recent years, the immigration laws issued by the Home Office have become progressively more complex. This has affected business immigration procedure, and as a result, the laws have become more challenging to navigate for both employers and employees.
Unfortunately, the complexities of these laws make it much harder for UK businesses to employ from overseas. Despite many proven benefits, both socially and economically, some companies are discouraged from hiring workers outside the UK.
IQA Immigration passionately believes in the value of overseas workers who provide your business access to a wealth of knowledge and experience. It has also been proven that introducing a diverse range of life experiences to your team positively impacts the business as a whole.
We aim to help you and your business manage the challenges in place and navigate complex immigration processes. This will help you to hire migrant workers safely, protecting the rights of both your business and your employees.
The Home Office has introduced a Points Based System (PBS) regarding its stance on immigration. This means that anyone who is coming to the UK to work must meet specific requirements. The worker will score ‘points’ under each criterion in a process that can be complicated and tricky to manoeuvre.
Companies that employ overseas workers must ensure they have a sponsor licence. It is imperative that your business applies for and maintains the correct licence, or you risk facing harsh penalties.
We are here to help ensure that you and your business comply with immigration laws, such as the prevention of illegal working regulations, and assist in obtaining the correct certificates.
Choosing to work with us is the first step to ensuring you’re prepared for the process ahead. Our immigration advisers have a layered and nuanced understanding of the correct procedures; we make sure you follow them. We endeavour to work closely with you from start to finish.
We offer numerous other advice services, including information about UK visas and British Citizenship. We are also willing to discuss your other queries about working and living in the UK. You will have our years of experience and expert knowledge at your disposal.
We want to work with you as a UK sponsor and ensure that your company fulfils its duty to protect the British workforce. We also want to help you in gaining the skills and experience you require from overseas.

UK Universities
Helping Universities support student visa applications, as well as providing advice on student sponsorship and compliance.
With decades of experience, we are here to help you through the current immigration processes safely.
As a country, the UK values its international students and university staff immensely. We recognise that the diversity of the people is what makes our education system one of the best in the world.
The benefits that international students bring to the UK include:
- £25.8 billion in gross output for the UK economy
- £3.3 billion in tax revenues
- 206,000 jobs supported
- A multi-cultural study experience for home students while their course is in session
The same can be said for those employing non-UK native staff, which help bring expertise and knowledge to UK universities.
In recent years, higher education and students who wish to study outside of their home countries are becoming globalised. With the many social, cultural and economic benefits an international student population brings, and with so many bright and brilliant people out there, it is our pleasure to offer the guidance needed to steer you through the current immigration processes.
Although these benefits are demonstrably far-reaching, the government does not make any allowances for the sector. Universities are subject to the same rigid rules as commercialised organisations.
UK universities are severely penalised should they fail to follow the strict immigration regulations imposed by the government. If they are found in breach of their sponsorship duties, they are in danger of losing their license. This means they would be unable to recruit any additional international staff who require sponsorship.
Brexit has made matters more complex. The regulations and laws regarding immigration have been significantly changed, muddying the process even further.
Therefore, it is vital to seek advice from an experienced immigration adviser. We can help you tick the boxes you need to study, work and stay in the UK legally. This will help make the immigration process as efficient and as smooth as possible.
We also offer advice to UK universities who are navigating the same processes from the other side. We can ensure that you are following the protocol correctly and safely.

Beverley Harper
Founder
Beverley Harper lead immigration adviser at IQA Immigration Specialists
Originally from Scotland, I have spent over 10 years living and working in various countries. Whilst based in New York, I worked as an Immigration Liaison and Entry Clearance Officer for the Home Office (UK Visas & Immigration) covering the entire Americas Region. During this time, I made decisions on around 10,000 applications for entry clearance to the UK on over 50 different categories of visas and from over 170 different nationalities.
I liaised with UK visa sections worldwide and regularly underwent deployments to both Jamaica and Colombia. In this role, I also travelled around the USA providing training to commercial airline staff on documentary requirements for the UK and ensured that UK bound passengers held the correct documents for entry.
This experience has given me a unique and in-depth knowledge of both the UK Immigration Rules and the various processes used by the Home Office. I am passionate about business immigration and have extensive experience in supporting UK companies to sponsor skilled workers from overseas. I also know the exact format and criteria required for a successful visa application and have an understanding of the common mistakes made by applicants which can lead to refusal.
Now back home in the UK, I have obtained OISC accreditation as an Immigration Advisor and have gained experience providing advice and services to both individuals and UK companies. I am also a member of the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association (ILPA).
