You may be eligible under any of the following categories:

A General Visitor visa will allow you to come to the UK for up to 6 months as a tourist on holiday or to visit friends.  You will not be allowed to take paid or unpaid work in the UK as a visitor.

A Family Visitor visa will allow you to come to the UK for up to 6 months in order to visit a qualifying family member who is living in the UK.

A Business Visitor visa will allow you to come to the UK for up to 6 months to conduct business activities for your job such as business meetings, conferences or attending a pre-arranged interview.  This visa is also for academic visitors, doctors and dentists undertaking the PLAB test, film crew and representatives of an overseas news media organisation.

A Sports Visitor visa will allow you to come to the UK for up to 6 months to take part in a specific sports event or activity.  This visa also allows officials or support staff to work at the event.  You will only be allowed to accept a payment in the form of accommodation, travel expenses or prize money.

An Entertainer Visitor visa will allow you to come to the UK for up to 6 months to take part in a music competition or a qualifying arts festival or cultural event.  There are specific conditions which apply to accepting payment for these activities.

A Child Visitor visa will allow an under 18 year old to enter the UK for up to 6 months as a visitor.  If you are under 18 years old and require a visa in order to visit the UK for any purpose, you must apply under this category.

A Private Medical Treatment Visitor visa will allow you to enter the UK for up to 6 months to obtain pre-arranged private medical care.  It may be possible to apply for an extension of this visa with proof of support from a registered UK doctor.

You should apply for a Marriage Visitor visa if you qualify under the following category:

A Marriage Visitor visa will allow you to enter the UK for up to 6 months to get married in the UK or register a civil partnership in a licensed location.

You should apply for a Permitted Paid Engagement (PPE) visa if you qualify under the following category:

A Permitted Paid Engagement Visitor visa will allow you to enter the UK for up to 1 month to specific paid work without being sponsored.  You must have a formal invitation from the UK organisation who will pay you and the work must be relevant to your expertise and qualifications.

You should apply for a Transit visa if you qualify under the following category:

A Transit Visitor visa allows you to enter the UK only for the purpose of transiting to another country.  There are 2 types of transit visa.  You should apply for a Visitor in Transit visa if you are going through UK border control but leaving the UK within 48 hours.  You should apply for a Direct Airside Transit visa if you are changing fights within 24 hours and are not passing through UK border control.

Additional Hours

Consultations are normally conducted between 9am and 5pm Monday – Friday.  However, if required, evening consultations may be available. Please contact us for further information.

In Person Consultation

Consultations are normally provided via Skype or telephone.  In-person consultations can be arranged at IQA Immigration’s offices in Edinburgh.  Time slots for in-person consultations are limited and subject to availability.

In Person Representaion (Premium Service in Scotland)

If a client is eligible for and wishes to book an in-person appointment at the UKVI Premium Service Centre in Glasgow, IQA Immigration can provide in-person representation for an additional fee.
